In 2013 Olga Demosthenous submitted a claim against TV 3 Latvia and Red Dot Media in the City of Riga Vidzeme District Court, Latvia, asking to retract the information infringing upon the Claimants’ honour and dignity, and indemnify them thereof, broadcasted in TV translation «Neka Personiga» (Nothing Personal).
In 2012 Maxim Stepanov and Midland Consult (Cyprus) Limited submitted a claim against the Foundation in the City of Riga Vidzeme District Court, Latvia, asking to retract the information infringing upon the Claimants’ honour and dignity, and indemnify them thereof.
On September 24, 2014 Riga Regional Court has made a judgment in the case of Olga Demousthenous claim against SIA «TV3 Latvia» regarding honor and reputation damages.
On June 17th , 2014 the Court of Special Appeals in Annapolis, Maryland handed down its opinion on the case of Maxim Stepanov, et al. versus Journalism Development Network, Inc. (JDN). The opinion was written by Judge J. Zarnoch.
The New York Court Appellate Division affirmed the dismissal because, in the view of appellate justices, the article did not suggest that Midland or Mr. Stepanov were in any way involved in the wrongdoing that is the subject of the article.
